But how did I get here?
I left Beirut, two days after I graduated as a Telecom Engineer, for a job position in Paris. It was in Financial Tech. Henceforth, my career with international investment banks was kicked and spanned more than 17 years.
I travelled the world and spent most of my time with my clients wherever they were. Among other consulting assignments and responsibilities, I had the privilege to create new roles, to help bridge businesses to IT solutions, to manage strategic accounts from sales to program delivery to cross functional managerial positions to stakeholders’ management to C-level advisory… all of which I made through leading diverse and global teams of exceptionally talented people!
Early enough, I realised that the interactions with my customers and those with my own teams were among the best parts of my daily work. I have quickly come to the conclusion that customer service starts with the employee service! In the end, both are about people who are my ultimate true passion.
So I used my daily work as a laboratory where I observed leaders and international company cultures. I experienced what worked and what did not, I tested ideas, I asked questions, I saw how challenging it is to be a great leader and how companies, despite all the good intentions, find it hard to adjust their cultures to improve performance and bring more meaning to the workplace.
The task is not easy! Yet, this is where I wanted to put my efforts. So, in parallel to my work, I went on studying and weaving the threads of psychology, literature, philosophy, neuroscience and coaching with those of my business and human experiences. All of this benefited my daily leadership responsibilities and fed into my professional life, until I moved to London and decided to embrace business executive coaching, officially.
Marcus Aurelius said “The universe is change; our life is what our thoughts make it”.
That is why my motto is “Dare to think”: improve your thoughts, improve your (professional) life.
